1. Information we collect

When you use the site, we may collect:

• Information you provide when placing or managing an order or subscription, such as contact details and a delivery or shipping address, through our commerce and service providers
• Basic technical and usage information, such as device and browser information, timestamps, pages viewed, website interactions, and information collected through technologies such as the Meta Pixel
• Historical contact, ZIP-code, preference, and consent information previously submitted through our delivery-interest form

Historical delivery-interest records are retained because customers who previously opted in may continue to receive communications within the scope of the consent they originally provided.

If you affirmatively opt in to SMS, we collect or may collect, as applicable, information related to that SMS enrollment and messaging activity, including:

• the mobile phone number you provide
• your SMS consent status
• the date and time of your consent
• the source of your consent, where applicable (for example, the previous delivery-interest form or a customer-order consent flow)
• the ZIP code associated with the consent, or an associated order where applicable
• message delivery status information returned by messaging providers, where applicable
• opt-out status, including STOP requests, where applicable

When you place a One-Time Box order or start a Weekly subscription, your order, account, and payment details are collected and processed by our checkout and subscription provider, Subbly, and its payment providers. The Snack Edit storefront does not store your full payment card details.

2. How we use information

We use the information to:

• Process and fulfill orders and subscriptions
• Determine and support the applicable local-delivery or shipping method for an order
• Operate local delivery and support carrier shipping and fulfillment
• Communicate about your order, subscription, or inquiry
• Send the SMS messages you affirmatively authorized, limited to the categories covered by the consent you provided
• Use historical delivery-interest and contact records within the scope of the consent originally provided, including applicable service-availability updates
• Maintain the security and technical operation of the site
• Measure website performance and understand the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing efforts

3. Email communications

Transactional messages related to your One-Time Box order or Weekly subscription (such as order confirmations and subscription updates) are sent by email through Subbly.

If you previously opted in to email updates through our delivery-interest form, we may continue to send occasional email updates within the scope of that consent. If other optional email updates are offered in the future, they require a separate affirmative opt-in. Email consent and SMS consent are handled separately, and opting in to one does not opt you in to the other. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any such message.

4. SMS communications

The Snack Edit operates one optional SMS program with two distinct consent categories. SMS consent is optional, requires a separate affirmative opt-in, and is not a condition of purchase. Placing an order or providing a mobile phone number alone does not constitute SMS consent. Email consent and SMS consent are handled separately.

Depending on the consent you provided, you may receive:

• Delivery availability and service-area updates — if you previously opted in through our former delivery-interest form, we may continue to send delivery availability for the ZIP code you submitted and related service-area or service-availability updates within the scope of that original consent. This former enrollment path is no longer offered for new signups.
• Customer order and service messages — if you separately opt in through a checkout or customer-order consent flow, these messages may include order confirmations and order status updates, shipping and delivery updates, operational subscription notifications when applicable, and post-delivery feedback requests about an order or customer experience.

Historical delivery-interest SMS consent does not authorize customer order and service messages, and customer order and service consent does not expand the scope of any historical delivery-interest consent.

The SMS program does not include discounts, coupons, promotions, advertising, product marketing, abandoned-cart messages, cross-sell, or upsell content. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, and message delivery may depend on your wireless carrier and network conditions. Reply STOP to withdraw SMS consent for messages sent to that mobile number, and reply HELP for assistance. The full terms of the SMS program are described in our SMS Terms.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent data are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile information and other personal information may be disclosed only to messaging, commerce, fulfillment, delivery, hosting, analytics, security, or technology service providers as necessary to operate the services, send the messages you authorized, process orders, support shipping and delivery, and maintain security and technical operations. These providers may use the information only to perform services for The Snack Edit and are not permitted to use it for their own independent marketing or promotional purposes.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental requests; protect the rights, property, security, or safety of The Snack Edit, our customers, or others; or investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

These circumstances do not permit mobile phone numbers or SMS consent data to be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Limited technical and website interaction information may be shared with Meta Platforms, Inc. through the Meta Pixel for website measurement and advertising-performance measurement.

6. Cookies, analytics, and advertising measurement

We use limited website measurement technologies to understand how our site is used and to evaluate the effectiveness of our advertising.

We currently use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The Meta Pixel may collect technical and website interaction information, such as device or browser information, pages viewed, and actions taken on the site. We use this information to help measure website activity and advertising performance.

Meta's handling of information it receives through its technologies is governed by Meta's own privacy policies.

7. Data security

We use reasonable steps to protect the information we collect, but no online service can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Children's privacy

The Snack Edit is intended for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

9. Your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any such message. You can withdraw SMS consent at any time by replying STOP to any message from the program; opting out of SMS does not automatically unsubscribe you from email, since email preferences are managed separately. Please notify us at hello@thesnackedit.com if your mobile number changes or is reassigned so we can update or remove it from the program. You may also contact us at hello@thesnackedit.com regarding your privacy choices or to ask about the information we hold about you.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
